L.A. dream-poppers GREAT NORTHERN released the EP SLEEPY EEPEE last month, fairly hard on the heels of their debut LP, TRADING TWILIGHT FOR DAYLIGHT. Turns out, the EP had been available on iTunes since November, and it was actually recorded before the LP's May '07 release. So: old material, off the decks. Fair enough. What's next?(I kind of like the the way the Los Angeles Times pegged Great Northern's sound, as such: "Their songs tread the tenuous ground where heartwarming meets heartbreaking, unfolding as if the boy-girl vocalists were revisiting crumpled old love letters." Yeah... that sorta gets at it....)
